ABOUT ME

Hailing from Naarm/Melbourne, Chris Fawell is an electronic music artist that produces his work under the moniker Fixt Focus. Whilst still completing a design degree at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, Chris found himself being drawn closer and closer to the world of music. During the COVID-19 pandemic; with extra time on his hands, he begun dipping his toe into the water of music production. After three months of experimentation and frustration, Chris felt that he had finally navigated himself over the initial steep learning curve of production; and in turn, experienced his passion for making music growing exponentially.

With his 7 years of drumming experience and a keen interest in synthesis and audio processing, he prides himself most on creating music that encompasses complex breakbeats, interesting textures and huge spaces. All elements that are underpinned by emotionally driven narratives, with a desire to evoke a powerful response from his audience.

Now with five years of experience under his belt (three of which he’s been studying music production at COLLARTS), Chris’ production skills and quality have approved out of sight. As a result, early in 2023 he began attracting freelance work; mixing music projects for other artists; as well as being commissioned by external companies to compose produce, mix and master music for various marketing tools and informational videos. Still retaining the unique electronic flare of Fixt Focus, Chris’ commission works exhibit more ambient and cinematic sonic characteristics.

Showing no signs of slowing down, Chris’ journey into genre-bending exploration continues to evolve; with the ultimate goal of creating meaningful music for his listeners to experience.
